Foreword

The 6th Seoul New Media Festival is a new genre public arts festival by showing new media. It began with a topic of what to show in a new media that is one step ahead of technologist in existing media festivals. Various instruments ofnew media do not belong to someone special but to us. Whether it is used for commercial consumption or other means of capital accumulation, new media culture is an absolute must as long as it conveys means and styles of praising personality and taste of diverse views with various tools. Different from Academy inclinedcultural arts and elite esthetic culture, space travel to minor 200 new media workswill truly indulge you with exotic, valuable and misty excitement. This travel will unveil discourse, genre, and code that we ultimately need to grasp from new media technology. Let's try a game in naming your discourse, genre and code in our space. Our story made up of 200 media feelings will make us happier than available media including mobile phone, mp3, DPD, ipod, and internet would. We invite you to this play in our Seoul New Media Festival from November 17th until 25th. The festival has begun for you to discover your cool, young and awakening sensation. Program

NEMA of Artworks
There will be a display of 49 works that passed the preliminary screening in NEMA Exhibition. It is our highlighted event and contest in search of best work for our theme. From 2006, we will have Asia exhibition where not only works byKorean artists but also works by artists from Asian region will be introduced to become a place for exchange and communication.

NEMA of Invitation Project
We will extend our invitation to groups equipped with well established international media arts festivals and media artsarchive to have their films on show in NEMA Program every year. By doing this, we will examine position of current domestic media artsin international context and provide a chance to domestic media arts audience in meeting international works that are hard to come by with certain limitations in current arts circle.

NEMA of Playground
This will be an experimental place for developing arts and various visual systems where video, radio, and internet will be on show individually or collectively. New media experience of different sensation will enhance media's status as a play by focusing on exposure of NEW rather than invention of NEW and experiment publicity and diversity of public media.

NEMA Workshop
With graduation works from the first Feminism Media Activist Education Workshop [Girlfriends, Media Power!], a part of Igong Business, the 6th Seoul New Media Festival NEMA Power Station 2006 plans exhibition, film screening, and other related event

Altervisual Project
Nine Cafes and clubs will serve as venues for showing selected works expressing problems of alternative views along with a fewselected work and international work.

Opening/Closing Artworks
NEMAF Opening Ceremony will stage performance and sound arts show, and Closing Ceremony will consist of presenting award ceremonies and showing awarded works. Outstanding shows at the party will make everyone wait for the next year event.


Awards

Best Award: Five members of jury will make impartial judge in selecting and awarding best work out of 49 that is most appropriate for NEMAF's characteristics.
Media Artist Award: Five members of jury will select and award an artist who expressed media freely with distinctive view.
Audience Award: The award will depend on survey result from the audience.
