DESCRIPTION

한 일본인의 내레이션으로 겨울, 레바논 베이루트 해안가에서 이루어지는 릴리와 미셸의 만남이 제시된다. 불확실한 기억의 파편들을 조합하여 두 사람의 운명이 재구성되어 가는 동안 내레이션의 주인공은 적군파이자 언더그라운드 영화 감독으로 베이루트에 와서 팔레스타인 해방 무장투쟁조직에 가담한 전설적 인물, 아다치 마사오임이 드러난다. 

"Winter, Beirut. On a beach littered with cans washed up from the sea, Lili and Michel meet. Or perhaps they know each other from before...As they struggle to piece together the fragments of an uncertain past, memories emerge: an act of terrorism, an explosion and the disappearance of a child, Elena. Woven throghout these fragments is the deep voice of a Japanese narrator who recounts his own experience of a weeping Beirut, and his 27 clandestine years fighting alongside the Palestinians as a member of the Japanese Red Army. His voiceover shapes Michel and Lil's story, their fate dictated by the enigma created for them by this narrator who turns out to be legendary Japanese New Wave filmmaker Massao Adachi."

 

에릭 보들레르

에릭 보들레르는 비주얼 아티스트이자 영화감독이다. 그의 최신 장편 영화인 <맥스에게 보내는 편지>(2014), <어글리 원>(2013), <시게노부 메이와 시게노부 후사코, 아다치 마사오의 원정과 27년간 부재한 이미지>(2011) 는 마르세유, 로카르노, 토론토, 뉴욕과 로테르담 영화제 등지에 초청되었다. 리서치에 기반한 그의 판화, 사진, 출판물들은 영화들과 함께 설치 형태로 전시되어왔다. 2014년 서울시립미술관이 제정한 SeMA-하나 미디어아트어워드의 첫 수상자로 지정되기도 했다. 

 Éric BAUDELAIRE

Eric Baudelaire is a visual artist and filmmaker. His recent feature films Letters to Max(2014), The Ugly One(2013) and The Anabasis of May and Fusako Shigenobu, Masao Adachi, and 27 Years Without Images(2011) were selected at the FIDMarsille, Locarno, Toronto, New York and Rotterdam film festivals. His research-based practice also includes printmaking, photography and publications which have been shown in installations alongside his films in solo exhibitions at the Fridericianum in Kassal, Betonsalon in Paris, the Bergen Kunsthall, the Beirut Art Center, Gasworks in London, La synagogue de Delme in France and so on. He has participated in the Seoul Biennal and Yokohama Triennal in 2014.
