세바스티앙 메츠

세바스티앙 메츠는 1982년 독일 에센 태생으로 고등학교를 졸업한 이후 프리랜서로 일하기 전 일 년간 인턴으로 일하면서 첫 실험영화를 제작했다. 2007년, 미국 텍사스주의 사형제도에 대한 중편 영화 <옳은 일을 해라>를 제작했고, 2008년 막스 오퓔루스 페스티벌에서 처음 상영되었다. 2007년 10월에 바뎀뷔르테베르크 영화학교에서 연출 전공으로 수학하기 시작했으며, 그의 첫 단편영화 <클린 업>은 20여개 이상의 국제 영화제에서 상영되었고, 상금을 받기도 했다. 유럽의 현대 노예제와 성매매에 대한 독특한 접근을 취한 <독일에서 온 편지>는 2011년 스위스 니옹 영화제에서 상을 받기도 했다. <사라진 시간>은 그의 첫 장편 영화로 2013년 베를린 영화제에서 처음 상영되었고 이후 세계 여러 영화제에 초청되었다. 그는 현재 베를린에서 거주하며 활동중이다.

Sebastian MEZ

Sebastian Mez was born in 1982 in Essen, Germany. After graduating from high school he was employed as intern for one year before leaving to work as a freelancer. In that time he created his first film experiments. In 2007 he made his first middle-length film <Do the Right Thing>about capital punishment in Texas/USA, which premiered at the Max Ophüls Festival in 2008. In October 2007 Sebastian began his studies at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg, Germany specializing in directing. His first Short <Clean Up> was shown at more than 40 international film festival and won several prices. His film <Ein Brief aus Deutschland>, which takes a special approach onto the subject of modern slavery and prostitution in Europe, won the international middle length competition at Visions du Réel in Nyon in 2011. <Metamorphosen> was his first feature length film, which premiered at the Berlinale 2013, followed by numerous festivals and awards worldwide. Sebastian lives and works in Berlin.
