DESCRIPTION

과거 전장의 시간. 타버린 땅 위에 질퍽하게 쌓여 있던 정체 모를 수많은 사람들. 그들은 모두 어디로 갔을까? 멀리 보이는 백마고지와 논과 밭, 그곳의 사물들을 반관(反觀) 하고자 한다. 눈의 초점과 현재의 의식을 흐리게 하고 가까운 곳도 아니고 먼 곳도 아닌 중간 즈음에 몸과 의식을 놓으려 한다. 현재로 시달리는 온순하지 않은 몸을 가다듬어 상하좌우 시방(十方)의 시 공간에 몸을 열어 놓을 수 있을까?

Time in the past battlefield Numerous nameless people heaped up on burnt ground. Where did they all go? I would like to see through Baengmagoji and the rice field and dry field in the distance and its objects. I let go of body and mind around the middle of somewhere not too far or close after I could eye focus and present consciousness. If I collect unamenable body, can my body be opened up in the time and space often bearing?"

 

   김현주

김현주(1975년 서울 출생)는 현재 서울과 양평에 거주하며 작업하고 있는 미술 작가다. 그녀의 퍼포먼스와 영상 작품들은 주로 '나는 누구인가?'라는 존재론적, 사회론적 질문과 함께 퍼포먼스, 미디어 설치, 드로잉으로 한국의 낙후되거나 은폐된 장소들을 대면하며 이루어진다. 그녀는 서울국제뉴미디어 페스티벌에 7회 참여하여 '詩를 探한 섬의 낮 그리고 밤', 'Dear my second', 'Styrofoamhead', 'aus' 등의 작품을 선보였으며 'Move on Asia'를 통해 독일, 뉴질랜드 등에 소개된 바 있다. 현재 작가는 한국전쟁 전후 민간인 학살에 관한 프로젝트 '내 귀속의 묘지들'이란 작업을 진행 중이다.

 KIM Hyunjoo

Kim hyun-joo(born 1975 in Seoul) is the artist who currently lives and works in Yangpyung and Seoul. Her work is about the ontologistic and social question, “Who am I ?” and Korean retarded and concealed places where she faced with performance and media installation, and drawing. She participated in Seoul International Media Festival seven times, and exhibited ‘Day and night of island coveting the poetry’, ‘Dear my second’, ‘Styrofoamedhead’, ‘aus’ and so on. She was introduced in German and New Zealand through ‘Move and Asia’. She is now working on ‘the tombs in my ears’, the project about the civilian massacres post the Korean War.
