DESCRIPTION

<하나>는 휴대전화로 찍은 한 영상으로부터 시작되었다. 휴대전화 카메라로 찍힌 영상은 원래 찍으려던 장면 대신 알 수 없는 이미지를 보여준다. 원래는 어떤 장면이었을까? 영상 속에 거대한 행성이나 미세한 세포가 들어있는 것일까? 거대한 질문에 대한 오마주로 60년대 SF 영화의 사운드트랙을 편집하여 사용하고 있다.

The starting point for ONE is a video taken with a mobile phone. The camera hasn’t been able to capture the original view and the resulting video contains only mystical glitch.What causes the glitch? What is the moment or subject, which was originally attempted to be documented? Is there a huge planet or a tiny cell in the video? Perhaps it is something else – a human or even God? The soundscape of ONE is homage to big questions, a mash-up of 60’s sci-fi cinema soundtracks.

유하 반 잉겐

1963년 출생. 유하 반 잉겐은 핀란드 헬싱키에서 거주하며 작품 활동을 한다. 다양한 매체를 이용하지만, 그는 주로 비디오 작업에 주력한다. 잉겐의 작품들은 일반적으로 그가 마주한 상황, 장소 그리고 개념으로부터 시작한다. 작품 진행을 진전시키는 무작위 요소들은 그의 작품들에서 동등하게 중요한 역할을 한다. 그는 1988년 이후로 국제 전시회, 상영회 그리고 비디오 페스티벌에 참가해오고 있다.

Juha van INGEN

Juha van Ingen (b. 1963) lives and works in Helsinki, Finland. He works with different mediums, though he has mainly been working with video. The starting point for van Ingen’s works is often a situation, space or a concept, which he happens to encounter. Random elements that evolve during the working processes play an equally important role in his works. Van Ingen has participated in international exhibitions, screenings and video festivals since 1988.
