DESCRIPTION

1937년작 백설공주와 일곱 난장이 중 도입과 대단원에 등장하는, 백설공주와 왕자의 프레임들을 선별하여 펄펄 끓는 100도씨의 물에 넣었다. 더 이상 끓어 오를 수 없는 절정의 온도에서 둘은 함께 녹고, 섞이고 그리고 익어간다.

I selected some scenes of Snow White and Prince Charming from <Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs> and put them into 212℉ boiling water. At this climax temperature, they were mixed, melted and boiled together.

 

 노영미 

시카고 예술대학에서 회화과를 졸업하고, 한국영화아카데미에서 애니메이션을 수학하였다. 그래픽 노블, 회화, 설치 등 다양한 형식을 통해 작업해오다가, 최근에는 시간과 형상의 최소 단위를 이용한 스탑모션에 집중하고 있다. 그를 통해, 어린 시절부터 품어온 세상적 가치에 대한 의심을 제기하고 간혹 풀어내고 있다.

 ROH Youngmee 

After acquiring B.F.A. at School of Art Institute of Chicago, Roh studied animation at Korean Academy of Film Arts. Since 2012, Roh has been working on various media such as graphic novels, paintings and installations. Now Roh is focusing on stop-motion using the smallest units of time and image. By doing it, Roh is raising and sometimes solving doubts of common values such as victory, happiness and utopia.
