ARTIST'S NOTE
<트레이스>는 ‘페이스북 라이브-스트리밍’과 ‘비디오-피드백’을 이용한 퍼포먼스다. 핸드폰으로 스스로를 촬영하고 그 영상을 ‘페이스북 라이브-스트리밍’을 통해 프로젝터로 다시 자신 위에 영사하는 방식이다.
‘비디오-피드백’은 마이크를 스피커 근처에 위치했을 때 발생하는 ‘오디오-피드백’과 비슷한 현상이다. 영상 입력 장치인 카메라를 영상출력 장치인 티비 또는 프로젝터에 정면으로 위치시키면 이미지가 계속에서 도는 현상을 ‘비디오-피디백’이라고 한다. <트레이스>는 소셜미디어에서 하나의 이미지가 계속해서 변형/증폭되어 점진적으로 본래의 이미지에서 멀어지는 현상을 말하고 있다. <트레이스>는 스마트폰으로 만들어낸 하나의 디지털 거울이라고 볼 수 있다.
Trace is a performance that uses 'Face Book Live Streaming' and "Video Feedback'. Using a smart phone the subject films himself and through 'Face Book Live Streaming' projects his own image onto himself. 'Video Feedback' is when a camera is facing a TV or a projection, the image is circulated infinitely. Trace is a phenomena where an image is continuously modified/amplified to be alienated from itself.

홍석진 홍석진은 벤쿠버 에밀리카 예술대학에서 혼합 미디어 학과를 졸업하고 현재는 부산에서 활동중이다. 홍석진은 비주얼아트라는 큰 틀 속에서 멀티미디어 퍼포먼스, 프로젝션 맵핑, 비디오 아트 등 다양한 형식의 작업을 진행 중이다. 현대인의 일상 속에 자연스러운 듯 스며있는 테크놀로지를 명시적으로 노출시켜 디지털 랜드스케이프를 구축하고 그 기반 위에서 개개인이 가진 고유한 아날로그적 의미를 성찰하는 작업을 하고 있다.

HONG Sukjin HONG Sukjin graduated from Emily Carr University of Art & Design. He majored in Integrated Media. Within the big boundary of Visual Arts he has worked on fields of Multi-media performance, Projection Mapping and Video art. By exposing the technology within the daily life, he tries to find an analogue location of people in the digital landscape that we live in.
