ARTIST'S NOTE

<동조>는 사회 심리학에서 사용되는 개념을 차용해 제목을 붙였다. 디지털 과도기 속에서 태어난 젊은 세대의 불안정한 심리를 대변하고자 한 작품으로, VR이라는 매체의 특수성을 드러내 영상 속에 존재하지 않는 ‘나’를 인간의 형상으로 등장시키며 스스로를 동일시하면서도 타자화시켜 바라보는 인지의 혼란을 이끌어낸다. 정보와 이미지의 과잉, 온라인 상에서 충돌하는 의견과는 대립되는 현실 속의 침묵은 현재 한국의 90년대 생이 사는 세상이다. 모든 것이 풍족한 세상에서, 젊은 세대가 느끼는 무력감을 적혈구로 대치시켜 보여주고자 하였다.

I aim to represent the unstable psychology of the younger generation born in the digital transition period, revealing the peculiarity of the media called VR, and creating confusion in the perception of identifying and otherizing with something through this work. This work represents the instability and lethargy of the younger generation being in the digital transition period.
