ARTIST'S NOTE

'감각의 부재에 대한 감각의 부재'는 몸짓 언어, 특히 손의 습관에 대한 연구를 바탕으로 제작된 애니메이션이다. 현대의 새로운 언어로 떠오른 터치, 플릭과 같은 스크린 제스처들은 비대면 시대의 도래와 함께 공통의 언어로 가속화되고 있다. 작품은 공통된 움직임을 생산하는 기술 제스처로 인해 주관성을 잃어버린 손에 대해 이야기하며, 낯선 공간에서 눈을 뜬 화자는 감각이 사라져가는 과정을 여행한다. 하나로 얽혀있었던 신체와 기억이 마치 평행선을 걷듯 서서히 분리되며 잠들어가는 신체의 감각을 하나의 시처럼 풀어냈다.

'Absence of sense for the absence of sense'is a poem that is based on research about habits of the body especially hands. The technological gestures such as screen gestures we commonly use for mobile is going a new language. With our lives surrounded by screens, I was curious about what happens when gestures set by a few authorities become habits. Will our gestures, which used to communicate with the physical world in our own ways, fade away? With these questions, the story tells the sense and the body, which was intertwined as one, slowly separates and falls asleep as if walking in parallel line.
