ARTIST’S STATEMENT

본인은 <the dance> 라는 애니메이션 작업을 통해서 음악을 통한 리듬의 흐름으로 기인하는 현대인의 메마른 정서와 고독 그리고 작품이 상영되는 시간의 연속선상에서 새롭게 창출되는 어떤 종류의 삶에 대한 의지를 춤으로 표현해 보고자 한다. 이를 위해 초당 30프레임을 그려내는 고된 로토스코핑 기법과 정제되어있지 않은 표현주의적 드로잉 애니메이션 기법 그리고 음악적 정서에 맞물리는 주관적인 춤사위가 합해져 독특한 시너지 효과를 일으키며 작가 개인의 내면정서를 독창적이게 구현하려 노력하였으며 이를 통해 작가 본인과 상응하는 현대인의 고독과 소외 그러나 내면적 갈등을 극복하고 자아를 찾아가는 현대인의 정체성 확립의 과정을 시각적, 극적으로 전달하기 위해 작품을 제작하였다.

This writer is to express a sort of the will to live newly created in dancing from the continuity of the cold-hearted modern, loneliness, and show time of work arising from the flow of rhythm through music with the animation work like <the dance>. To achieve it, this writer tried to embody the writer’s own internal sentiment by creating the unique synergy effect, combining with the hard rotoscoping technique drawing 30 frames per second, the expressionistic drawing animation technique without refinement, and the subjective dancing steps engaged in the musical emotion. In this way, this writer produced the work in order to overcome the modern loneliness, alienation corresponding to the writer’s own one, and covert conflict, and to deliver the process of establishing the modern identity finding their egos visually and dramatically.

고병준

경희대학교 회화과 대학원을 졸업했으며 ‘SK에너지’ 외 다수의 TV CF 제작 경력이 있다. 이 작품은 2013년 인디애니페스트 본선에 진출하였다.

He studied fine arts at the Kyung-Hee graduate school, and has produced many television commercials including ‘SK Energy’. The Dance made it to the final selection at the 2013 Indie-AniFest.
