DESCRIPTION
Light Rhythm 은 빛을 매개로 그림과 영화적 경험 사이의 관계를 탐구하는 실험적인 영화이다. 옵티컬 프린터를 추상적인 질감과 리드미컬한 움직임을 표현하는 기기로 활용하여 핸드메이드 슬라이드를 개별적 프레임으로 시각화 한 작품이다. 빛을 통한 레이어의 과정은 표면에 깊이감을 형성하며 색과 형상을 다양한 방식으로 융합한다. 이러한 과정으로 표현된 이미지는 자연의 미시적인 공간과 유동적 움직임을 연상시킨다. 추상적 이미지의 움직임은 특정한 순간을 포착하며 상상력을 불러일으키는 공간을 형성한다.
Light Rhythm is an experimental film that explores the relationship between painting and cinematic experience through light. I create a series of handmade slides, which I re photograph using an optical printer as a means of expressing abstract textural and rhythmic movement. This process of layering allows me to blend the colors and shapes in the slides, adding depth to the surface. The resulting imagery is an organic in nature evoking a microscopic space and fluid motion. This movement of abstract imagery captures an unconventional scene that projects an environment for the viewer?s imagination
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
그림과 영화적 경험의 관계를 탐구하고, 색의 합성과 확대된 형상을 통해 물질적이고 촉각적인 공간을 표현하고자 한다. 초당 24프레임의 작업은 즉흥적이며 나에게는 음악과도 같다. 24fps 의 템포를 옵티컬 프린터로 재구성하여 다양한 빛의 강도, 리듬과 속도를 시각화하고자 한다. 150 핸드메이드 슬라이드 속 공간은 미시적인 시각으로 다른 세계를 재창조하는 근원이 된다.
I explore the relationship between painting and cinematic experience by using magnified sequences of shapes and superimposed colors to create a physical and tactile environment. The experience of twenty-four frames per second is like music to me. I use the tempo of twenty-four frames per second to visualize a singular visual expression with variable intensity of lights, rhythms and speed. I recreate other worlds within one hundred and fifty handmade slides through a
microscopic perspective.
