DESCRIPTION

실시간 인터넷 개인 방송 '아프리카 TV'의 BJ(Broadcasting Jockey)로 활동하고 있는 트랜스젠더 라즈. 그녀의 방송 게시판은 트랜스젠더에 관한 욕설과 외모에 대한 비난으로 도배되지만 그녀는 그들을 보며 웃음 짓고, 시원한 트림 소리로 소화시켜버린다. 

A transgender girl, RAZ is a BJ(broadcasting jockey) for a website, 'Africa TV' Though she couldn't get a job in an entertainment spot for the simple reason that she's not pretty, she's not a kind of common transgenders that we know. Her message board is plastered with abuse of her look and transgender people, but she still smiles and burp them off!

 

 

ARTIST’S STATEMENT 

욕을 했지만 기분이 나쁘지 않았고 하소연을 했지만 동정심을 불러일으키진 않았다. 이것이 라즈의 첫 인상이었다.

Raz cursed at me but I didn't feel offensive. Raz whined on something, but I didn't feel sympathized. this was my first impression on Raz.

이옥섭 1987년 서울 출생. 서울예술대학 영화과와 한국영화아카데미에서 영화연출을 공부하였다. <엄마를 찾아주세요>를 비롯해 다양한 단편영화를 작업하였으며 최근 선보인 <4학년 보경이>(2014) 역시 좋은 반응을 얻었다. <라즈 온 에어>는 2011년 EIDF Documentary Fund 의 지원으로 제작되었다.

YI Ok-seop Born in Seoul in 1987, YI Ok-seop studied film at the Seoul Institute of Arts and also studied film directing at the Korean Academy of Film Arts. YI has made many short films including Please find my mother (2014) and many more. Her recent film Bo-kyung the fourth grade also received a good response. RAZ on Air was produced through the funding from EIDF Documentary Fund in 2011.
