DESCRIPTION
이 작품은 이베이에서 구입한 1930년대 관광엽서 한장에서 시작한다. 이 엽서에는 당시의 관광명소였던 조선총독부의 사진이 실려있었다. ‘어느 관광엽서의 일생’ 은 엽서가 탄생하기 전, 조선총독부가 만들어지기 전에서 시작해서, 실제와 허구 사이를 경계없이 오가며 다양한 장소와 시간의 연대기를 거쳐 조선총독부의 잔해가 놓여있는 공원에서 끝난다.
This work started with a tourist postcard from 1930s that I purchased on eBay. On the post card was a picture of the Japanese General Government Building of Korea, a tourism site at the time. The work ‘A Life of Tourist Postcard’ began, tracing back to before the post card was made, before the building was built, and travels back and forth between reality and fiction through various places and chronology, then finally ends at a park upon which debris from the Japanese General Government Building of Korea are laid.

권혜원 김재연
권혜원은 서울과 런던을 오가며 활동하고 있는 미술작가이다. 한국예술종합학교 영상원과 런던대 슬레이드 예술대학에서 영화와 미디어 아트를 공부했으며, 런던 테이트 브리튼과 ICA 갤러리 등 다수의 전시회와 페스티벌에 참여하였다. 김재연은 한국예술종합학교 영상원에서 영화를 전공한 뒤, 시나리오 작가와 연출가로서 일하고 있다. <크리에이티브 그룹 꿀단지> 멤버로서, 극영화 뿐 아니라 다양한 영상 미디어 작업에 관심을 가지고 참여하고 있다.

KWON Hyewon, KIM Jaeyeon
Hyewon Kwon is an artist working in Seoul and London. She studied film and media art at School of Film, TV & Multimedia of Korea National University of Arts and Slade School of Fine Art, University College London, participating in many exhibitions and festivals including Tate Britain in London and ICA gallery. Jaeyeon Kim currently works as a screenwriter and director after graduating from School of Film, TV & Multimedia of Korea National University of Arts. As a member of Creative Group Gguldanji, She has participated in not only feature film but also various media art projects. |
