ARTIST'S STATEMENT

<선험적 편린들>시리즈는 노이즈 그 자체에서 출발하며 소리 객체를 구조화함으로써 하나의 ‘직물’을 만들어낸다. 이는 미디어 매체로서의 특징을 지니며, 사운드 노이즈의 잠재상태에서 현실화 과정을 은유적으로 드러낸다. 우리의 일상 도처에 존재하고 심지어는 피할 수도 없는 이러한 사운드 노이즈와의 인터페이스는 세상과의 커뮤니케이션이며, 실재(가시적대상)와 정신(비가시적 세계)의 관계를 구성한다. 이를 통해 생산된 소리는 더 이상 노이즈가 아닌 세상에 존재하는 모든 것들의 소리이다.

The <A Priori Bits #3; Radius> series started from noise itself and weaves a fabric, structuralizing noises. The work has features of a communication tool and metaphorically visualises the process of revealing potentials of sound noise. This inter-phase of the sound noise, which is ubiquitous and even unavoidable in our contemporary life, is a communication with the world. It connects reality (visible objects) and mind (an invisible world). The sounds produced by this process are no longer mere noise but the sound of all that exists in the world.

 

 

전형산

1984년 서울에서 태어나 대학교에서 서양화를 전공하였으며, 현재 연세대학교 커뮤니케이션 대학원에서 미디어아트를 공부 중이다. 작가는 비음악적 소리와 사운드 노이즈의 잠재성에 관하여 연구하는 작업을 주로 하며, 사운드 인스톨레이션 및 사운드 즉흥음악공연 등 다양한 작품 활동을 진행해오고 있다.

 
 

JUN Hyounsan

Born in Seoul, 1984, he has a BA in Painting and currently completing his MA in Media Arts at Yonsei University in Seoul. He explores the potential of unmusical sound and sound noise, working with sound installation and improvised sound performance
