DESCRIPTION
이 영화는 백설공주, 신데렐라 등 여성주인공의 행복동화를 동양의 꿈 해몽으로 번역하여 다시 만들어졌다. 어느 여자가 서사구조로 상징되는 산을 오르내리며 도입, 상승, 절정, 하강, 대단원을 맞이하는 이야기다.
This is a happy-ending fairy tale story like Cinderella, Snow white and etc. I rewrote this typical story into language of dream (Asian oneiromancy) in order to defamiliarize this typificated cognition. It is about a girl who climbs a mountain, which symbolizes narrative structure such as exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and denouement. After repeating ‘shooting and compositing process’, each scene had been printed to 15,000 framed pictures in different conditions.

2011년 미국 시카고 예술대학에서 회화를 전공하였다.평면회화, 그래픽 노블 그리고 설치 작업 등을 주로 하다가 2015년 한국영화아카데미에서 애니메이션을 전공 한 뒤,영상 매체 특히 스탑모션에 지극한 관심을 기울이며 작업을 지속하고 있다. 나의 작업은 세상의 당연한 가치들 예를 들면 승리, 행복, 이상향 등에게 의심을 품으면서 시작되었다. 그 가치들의 형태와 성질을 쫓는 작업을 하고 있다. 어린 시절부터 그것들을 주입시켰던 동화, 상징, 법칙들을 이용하여 다양한 방법으로 서로 조합하고 변형함으로써 작업을 풀어나가고 있다. |
ROH Youngmee I graduated from School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2011 with a major in fine arts. Originally focused on painting, graphic novels and installation until I studied animation at Korean Academy of Film Arts in 2015. Afterwards I am working on moving images especially “stop motion.” |
