DESCRIPTION

구글 어스(Google Earth)에 있는 토머스 제퍼슨의 그리드를 발굴하기 위해 만들어진 영화. 지구표면 위에 정밀한 제곱마일로 만들어진 직사각형 그리드를 겹쳐 놓음으로써 구(球) 형태의 편차는 고정되어야 한다. 결국, 그리드는 이차원만 갖게 된다.

This film was made mining the Thomas Jefferson's Grid in Google Earth. By superimposing a rectangular grid on the earth surface, a grid built from exact square miles, the spherical deviations have to be fixed. After all, the grid has only two dimensions.

 

 

헤르코 데 라뤼테르, 미히엘 바나빌라

 헤르코 데 라뤼테르는 로테르담을 기반으로 사진 및 영화계에서 일하는 시각예술 작가이다. 2012년부터 구글 어스를 소스로 사용 CROPS(2012), Playground(2014) 등의 작품을 만들었다. 그의 예술은 자연풍경의 표현이 얼마나 축소될 수 있는지와 그러면서도 얼마나 알아볼 수 있는지에 대해 탐구한다.미히엘 바나빌라는 1961년생 사운드 아티스트, 작곡가, 프로듀서이다.

 

 

 

 

 

바나빌라는 1983년부터 음악을 발표했고, 수많은 영화, 다큐멘터리, 연극, 안무를 위한 음악을 만들었다.

 

 

Gerco de RUIJTER, Michel BANABILA

 

Gerco de Ruijter is a Rotterdam-based visual artist working in the field of photography and film. Since 2012 he has been mining Google Earth as a source, resulting in films like CROPS (2012) and Playground (2014). His art explores how far presentation of the landscape can be reduced and yet still remain recognisable.

 

 

 

 

Michel Banabila, born 1961, is a sound artist, composer, and producer. Banabila releases music since 1983 and has produced musical scores for numerous films, documentaries, theatre plays and choreographies.
