DESCRIPTION
일본 오비히로에서만 열리는 희귀한 짐수레 경마인 ‘반에이’의 색다른 소리와 리듬을 관찰하는 다큐멘터리. 경주 운영의 이면을 포착하는 이 작품은 해설자의 격앙된 목소리가 광란의 횡설수설과 뒤섞이면서 점차 매듭처럼 꼬여간다. 2018 로테르담국제영화제 단편부문 타이거상 수상작.
The documentary observes the idiosyncratic sounds and rhythms of Ban’ei, a rare kind of draft horse race that takes place only in Obihiro, Japan. Capturing the behind-the-scenes operations of the race, the film gradually twists itself into a knot as the excited voices of the commentators merge into a frenzy of gibberish. Award winner of the Ammodo Tiger Short Competition at IFFRotterdam in 2018.

아라키 유, 다니엘 자코비
다니엘 자코비는 바르셀로나 대학에서 순수미술을 전공했고, 프랑크푸르트의 슈테델슐례에서 학업을 계속했다. 그는 영화 ‘Jagata’로 2016년 리마독립영화제(페루)의 전국 경쟁에서 수상했다.
아라키는 2007년 미국 세인트루이스의 워싱턴대학교에서 조각 전공으로 순수미술 학사학위를 받았고, 2010년 도쿄 예술대학에서 영화와 뉴미디어 전공으로 석사 과정을 마쳤다.

Araki YU, Daniel JACOBY
Daniel JACOBY graduated in fine arts from the University of Barcelona and furthered his education at the Städelschule in Frankfurt. His film Jagata won the National Competition at Lima Independiente (Peru) in 2016.
Araki received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Washington University in St. Louis, U.S.A. in 2007, and completed his Master of Film and New Media Studies from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2010. |
