DESCRIPTION
<폐쇄회로(스웨덴 한가운데서)>는 도로가 크게 패여 구덩이가 생긴 스웨덴의 한 교외 풍경을 그린 페테르 틸베리의 회화 ‘스웨덴의 한가운데서’(1972-73)을 바탕으로 한다. 비디오에서 관람자는 도로 위 구덩이로 빨려 들어가 목구멍을 지나 창자같은 터널로 갔다고 다시 땅 위로 나오는데 이 과정은 계속해서 반복된다.
Closed Circuit (In the Middle of Sweden) is based on a painting by Swedish artist Peter Tillberg, called MidtiSverige (1972–73) meaning ‘in the middle of Sweden’, that depicts a suburb somewhere in Sweden with a big hole in the street.In the video, the viewer is drawn into the hole in the ground, through a chomping maw, into an intestine-like canal before emerging onto the ground for it to start over again.

Mattias HÅRENSTAM Mattias Härenstam(Gothenburg, 1971) works multi-disciplinarily with sculpture, installation, film, video and printmaking. His recent solo shows were held at The Vigeland Museum (Oslo, 2016) and Stavanger Art Museum (2016) and he has also participated in numerous group shows in Scandinavia and internationally. |
