DESCRIPTION
이는 영상 속 주인공이자 연인인 피 응웬과 라우린 부이지의 초상이다. 둘은 각기 다른 관점과 다른 역할들로 카메라에 담아지게 되면서 주목을 끈다. 영화 자체는 비유적인 의미에서 주인공들을 해부하기 위한 시도로 볼 수 있는데, 마치 질문에 대한 대답을 찾고 있는 것으로 보인다: 피와 라우린이 누구인가? 하지만 영화는 또한 시각예술에서의 “해부학 수업”의 전통을 문자 그대로 의미하기도 한다: 말하자면 영상기술로 피와 라우린의 몸의 안과 밖을 바꾸는 것-이는 사실 의학세계에서 더 자주 쓰인다.
The video Phi and Laurine is a portrait of the actors ánd lovers Phi Nguyen and Laurine Booij. Both are brought into the limelight by the camera from different perspectives and in different roles. The film itself can be seen as an attempt to dissect the protagonists in a figurative sense, as it were, looking for the answer to the question: who are Phi and Laurine? But the film also refers literally to the tradition of the "Anatomy Lesson" in the visual arts: the bodies of Phi and Laurine have been turned inside out, as it were, with imaging techniques - which are used more frequently in the medical world.

Sander BREURE, Witte Van HULZEN Sander BREURE was born in 1985, Leiderdorp, The Netherlands. He obtained BA degree in Music Composition at Royal Conservatorie, THe Hague, 2010. Witte van HULZEN was born in 1984, Bolsward, The Netherlands. He obtained BA degree in Fine Arts at ArteZ Arnhem, 2009. In 2008, he worked for Jan Fabre as a director assistant. |
