DESCRIPTION

역사의 첫 번째 형태는 자신의 이야기다. 작품 속 고인류학자들은 우리의 조상을 찾기 위해 땅을 파고, 광부들은 다이아몬드를 찾는다. 그와 동시에, 역사학자의 일기는 가장 가치 있는 다이아몬드, 즉 '자신'을 위한 발굴을 기록한다.

The first form of history is the story you tell yourself. In The I Mine paleoanthropologists dig for our ancestors while miners dig for diamonds. Simultaneously, the entries of a historian's diary reveal his own digging for the most valuable diamond: the 'self'.

에밀리오 모레노

에밀리오 모레노(b.1980, 스페인)는 사물, 몸짓, 말의 전기에 관심이 있는 작가다. 그의 작업은 문화적 가치가 나타나는 다양한 가치관 및 경험의 실체를 조사한다. 모레노는 언어와 문학에 대한 많은 공부를 해왔기에, 그의 영화, 공연, 설치 등에서는 서술의 구성 방식과 물질사 내의 역사와 이야기 사이의 관계를 조사한다.

Emilio MORENO

Emilio MORENO (Spain, 1980) is an artist interested in the biography of objects, gestures and words. His practice investigates different notions of value and the realms of experience from which cultural values emerge. Because of Moreno’s studies in language and literature, his films, performances, installations, etc. investigate the modes of construction of a narrative and the relationship between history and stories within material history.
