DESCRIPTION
뱃고동 소리는 세 번 울린다. 작게. 좀 더 크게. 더 크게. 어두운 지하의 공간에 촛불이 타오르면 목소리가 들린다. 얼굴이 없는 목소리는 다른 목소리로, 그 목소리는 또 다른 얼굴 없는 목소리로 우리에게 말을 걸어온다.
A boat horn lets out three sounds. Quietly. A little louder. Louder. A voice can be heard as a candle starts to burn in a dark underground space. The faceless voice turns into another, then into yet another faceless voice as it calls out to us.

1987년 대전 출생. 서울에서 시각예술가로 활동하고 있다. 텍스트를 쓴 후 이를 출판, 영상, 설치 작업 등으로 제작한다. PL(People Living with HIV/AIDS)이라는 상황에 놓인 그는 “사회적 소수자와 같이 통속적이고 전형적이기 쉬운 소재들에 구심의 강도를 더하고 호소력을 얻는” 작품들을 선보인다고 평가받는다.
Born in Daejeon, South Korea in 1987, Jungsik Lee lives and works as a visual artist in Seoul. Lee starts his creative process by writing texts, which are then developed into various media such as published books, videos, or installations. As a Person Living with HIV/AIDS(PLHA), the artist presents works that "add a narrative focus and expressive strength to often conventional and superficially approached topics such as social minorities.
