ARTIST'S NOTE
한국에 살고 있는 키티와 토미, 일본에 살고 있는 미아와 엠마. 실제로 만날 수 없는 그들은 인터넷 영상 통화와 AR아바타, 채팅앱의 한-일 자동번역기를 통해서 친구가 되었다. 스크린이란 창을 통해 서로의 삶 안으로 순간이동을 한다. 우리는 새로운 연결을 통해 다른 현실을 상상할 수 있을까?
Kitty and Tommy reside in Korea, while Mia and Emma live in Japan. The COVID-19 pandemic makes it impossible for them to meet in person. However, they forge a unique friendship through internet video calls, AR avatars, and translation apps that bridge the language barrier between Korea and Japan. As they teleport into each other's lives through their screens, they begin to explore the possibility of imagining new realities through their newfound connections.
DESCRIPTION
아시아에 살고 있는 20대 여성으로서의 경험은 마치 평행이론처럼 유사하게 흘러간다. 세대와 국가를 가로지르며 반복되는 차별과 혐오의 고리를 어떻게 끊을 수 있을까? “지구에서 살아남기 위해 사이보그가 되기”를 외친 헤러웨이 처럼 우리는 존재를 드러내기 위해 새로운 사이보그 캐릭터를 생성했다. 귀여운 캐릭터가 전복적 상상력을 발휘할 수 있길 바라며, 암담한 현실을 비관하거나 냉소하지 않고 새로운 양식의 우정과 연대의 가능성을 찾고자 했다.
As women in our 20s living in Asia, we've found that our experiences often mirror each other in a parallel universe. How can we break the cycle of discrimination and hate that seems to repeat across generations and countries? Inspired by Donna J. Haraway's call to "be a cyborg to survive on Earth," we created a new cyborg character to represent our existence and the need for subversive imagination. Our hope is that this cute character can inspire a new form of friendship and solidarity, one that doesn't succumb to pessimism or cynicism in the face of our often gloomy reality. Through this film, we explore the possibility of cultivating new connections and breaking down barriers, even in the face of adversity.

1995년 12월 14일 태어났으며, 현재 한국예술종합학교 영상원 방송영상과에서 다큐멘터리를 전공하고 있다.
연출작품으로는 2017년도 작품 <X에 대하여>가 있다.
남아름
1995년12월18일 출생으로 현재 한국예술종합학교 영상원 방송영상과 졸업 후 동대학원에서 다큐멘터리를 전공하고 있다
연출작품으로는 2018년도 작품 <핑크페미>가 있다.
치푸미 탄자와
1999년 일본 나가노에서 태어났다. 대학에서 문화연구학을 공부했고, 수업 중 일본에서 일어나는 성폭력에 대한 다큐멘터리를 제작하였다. 정치, 젠더 및 페미니즘과 관련된 문제에 관심을 갖고 있다.
나나노카
1998년 일본 도야마에서 태어났다. 대학에서 문화 연구학을 공부하고 한일 정치와 K-POP을 주제로 졸업 논문을 썼다. 정치, K-POP, 페미니즘, 외모지상주의 그리고 종교에 관심을 가지고 있으며 일본 소재 광고 제작 회사에 재직중이다.Arum NAM is a documentary director based in Seoul, South Korea. She’s doing a master's degree in documentary at the Korea National University of Arts. Her previous short documentary, Pink-Femi, was screened at several film festivals. Her first feature film -Patriot girl- is on the production stage.
Nana NOKA was born in 1998 in Toyama, Japan. Nana studied Cultural studies at university and wrote a graduation thesis about Japanese-Korean politics and K-POP. She is interested in politics, K-POP, feminism, lookism and religion. She is working in a commercial production company in Japan
Chifumi TANZAWA was born in 1999 in Yamanashi, Japan. She studied Cultural studies at university and made her first film about sexual violence in Japan. Issues that she is concerned about involve human rights, especially gender discrimination.
Ohyeon KWON was born 1995 in Seoul, South Korea. She is studying documentary film at the Korean National University of Arts. She became documentary filmmaker after the Feminism Reboot after #Me_Too movement. Queer Feminism is the aestatical and practical method of her documentary works.
