ARTIST'S NOTE
필리핀 사람들이 모이는 목동이주노동자센터는 과거에 철거민이 살았던 곳이다. 떠나야 했던 사람들이 살던 곳에 시차를 두고 집을 떠난 또다른 사람들이 모인 것이다. 그들이 지금 사는 곳은 어디인지 질문하며 이주하는 몸, 감정들이 사는 집을 그들의 기억으로 그려보았다.
Mokdong Migrant Workers Center, where Filipino factory workers gather, is a place where demolition workers lived in the past. Another group of people who left home at a different time gathered where people live who had to leave. Asking where they live now, I weaved the house where the immigrant bodies and emotions live into their memories.
DESCRIPTION
필리핀 사람들이 전에 떠나야 했던 사람들의 집터에 모여 자신들이 살던 곳을 떠올린다. 공장 기계가 돌아가고 그들은 보이지 않는 것을 만든다. 그들이 유령처럼 연기하며 살아가는 집에서 그들 자신이 점점 집의 일부가 되어간다.
Filipinos gather at the site of people who had to leave before and think about where they lived. Factory machines are running and where they live is fading. In the house where they live by playing like ghosts, they themselves become gradually part of the house.

나는 기술과 몸이 서로 어떻게 매개하는지에 관심을 가지고 그것을 역사적이고 대중문화적 배경 속에서 발견한다. 이런 방식으로 기술적 부산물과 신체가 결합하여 만드는 효과에 집중하며 그 과정을 재구성한다. 이를 통해 어떤 힘이 그 성취되지 못한 과거로 머무르게 했는지, 기억은 어떻게 전이되고 있는지에 대해 질문하면서 이 해결되지 않은 과거와 흔적들이 사라지고도 어떤 매개로 인해 다시 나타나는 힘의 방식에 주목한다. 다수의 비디오 설치 및 비디오 퍼포먼스를 제작했고 전시했다.
I am interested in how technology and the body mediate with each other and discover it in a historical and popular cultural background. In this way, I focus on the effects of the combination of technical debris and the body and reconstruct the process. Through this, I explore the method of power that reappears by some medium even after these unresolved pasts and traces disappear, asking about what power has kept us in the unfulfilled past and how memories are being transferred. Works exhibited as a number of video installations and video performances.
