ARTIST'S NOTE

는 일기장 속 내용으로부터 출발한다. 'X'는 ‘아무것도 하지 않은' 날이다. 처음 'X'를 적은 2020년 8월 6일에 찍힌 6장의 사진들을 단서로 그 날의 일기를 다시 쓰고, 같은 날 벌어진 역사적 사건들과 8월 6일을 기억하고자 하는 개인의 무상함이 멀어졌다 가까워지기를 반복한다. 시간을 직선으로 그려보려 할 수록 시간의 비선형적인 속성이 드러난다. 잡을 수 없는 것을 잡으려 할 수록 멀리 달아난다. 그리고 나는 시간을 잠시라도 붙잡아 두기 위해 계속 일기를 쓴다. 어디에선가 서로 다른 역사들이 기록된다.

begins with the contents of a diary. 'X' represents days of 'doing nothing'. On August 6, 2020, marked with the first 'X', 6 photos serve as clues to rewrite the diary entry for that day. The pursuit of personal sincerity to remembering August 6th and the historical events that unfolded on the same day oscillates between distancing and approaching with each other. Drawing time as a straight line reveals its nonlinear nature. The more I try to grasp the elusive, the further it escapes. Yet I continue to write the diary to hold onto time, even for a moment. Somewhere, different histories are being recorded.
