ARTIST'S NOTE

첫 단편 영화부터 간병, 감옥, 성 역할은 나의 예술적 성찰을 불러일으켰다. 이 작품은 지배적인 내러티브에 도전하고 그들의 이야기와 존재, 인간성을 보존하기 위해 그들과 우리 사이에서 만들어진 작품이다. 교도소 내부의 비밀스러운 휴대폰 영상을 통해 그들의 경험과 애정을 재구성하는 집단적 이야기를 만들어낸다. 이 이야기는 20명이 넘는 여성들과의 광범위한 대화에서 나온 것으로, 그중 한 명인 카리나의 경험을 통해 재해석되었다. 영화의 각 프레임은 이미지에 물리적 존재감을 부여하기 위해 인쇄 및 재디지털화되어 지워지지 않고 오래도록 남는다. 이러한 방식으로 이 영화에는 이미지의 가치에 대한 질문을 제기하는 집단적 기억이 담겨 있다. 이미지를 만든다는 것은 현실을 전유하고 그것을 우리 것으로 만드는 것을 의미한다.

Since my first short films, care, prison and gender roles have mobilized my artistic reflections. This is a work created between them and us, challenging the dominant narrative and preserving their stories, existence and humanity. With their clandestine cell phone footage from inside the prison, we create a collective story that reconstructs their experiences and affections. The narrative emerges from extensive conversations with more than twenty women, reinterpreted through the experience of one of them, Karina. Each frame of the film has been printed and redigitized in order to give these images a physical presence, making them enduring and impossible to erase. In this way, the film contains a collective memory that raises a question about the value of images: creating images means appropriating reality and making it our own.
