  엘리 허경란은 시간 기반 미디어와 학제 간 연구를 통하여 사회 생태학적 연대와 갈등 그리고 공존을 탐구하며 예술적 담론 공간을 창출한다. 최근 작업은 예술이 인간중심주의와 생태중심주의 사이의 긴장에 대한 우리의 인식과 반응을 어떻게 전복할 수 있는지, 사회적 관습에 의해 종종 외면받는 생태적 갈등을 어떻게 조명할 수 있는지, 그리고 생명체 개체와 집단 그리고 환경 사이의 관계에 대한 담론 ─ 토론, 성찰, 재구성 ─ 을 어떻게 촉진할 수 있는지 연구한다.

  Ellie Kyungran Heo is an artist who explores socio-ecological solidarity, conflict and coexistence through time-based media and interdisciplinary research. Her recent work studies how art can affect our perceptions of and responses to tensions between anthropocentrism and ecocentrism, how it can highlight ecological conflicts often neglected by social convention, and how it can promote alternative discourses—debate, reflection, and reconstruction—on relationships between living beings, and between their societies and environments.
