ARTIST'S NOTE

나에게는 아무것도 없다.
다만 허공에 떠오르는 것은 지금 살아가고 있다는 초조함뿐이다.
과거에 찍은 영상을 본다.
고등학생, 중학생이 된 딸들은 초등학생, 유치원생으로 멈춰 있다.
나란 무엇인가.
지금 전쟁이 일어나고 있다는 것을 그때의 나는 몰랐다.
내 정신이 병들고 공허해진다는 것을 그때의 나는 모른다.
앞으로 나아가기 위해서는 한 장 한 장 불에 태워버리는 것만이 지금의 내가 할 수 있는 일이다.

I am empty. I am nothing.
The only thing that floats in the void is the frustration of being alive.
