ARTIST'S NOTE

도시는 늘 누군가를 포함하는 동시에 배제한다. 그런 도시 안에서 개인이 어떻게 기능과 할당량으로 환원되고 기억이 어떻게 흐려지는지를 포착하고자 했다. 태양의 사라짐은 시각적 리듬과 시간 감각이 무너진 세계를 가정하기 위한 장치다. 하루를 견디는 방식 그리고 그 견딤이 도시라는 체계 속에서 어떻게 규격화되는지를 되묻게 만든다. 한 인물은 도시를 관찰하고, 다른 인물은 흐려진 기억과 반복되는 노동 속에서 일상을 말한다. 이 두 시점을 교차시켜 도시가 어떻게 개인을 기능화하고 기억을 생존의 흔적으로 전환시키는지 구성하고자 했다.

The city always operates by including some while excluding others. Within such a system, I sought to capture how individuals are reduced to functions and quotas, and how memory becomes increasingly blurred. The disappearance of the sun serves as a device to imagine a world where visual rhythm and temporal perception collapse. It invites reflection on how we endure each day—and how that endurance becomes standardized within the urban mechanism. One figure observes the city from a distance, while the other speaks from within, recounting a life shaped by fading memory and repetitive labor. By weaving these two perspectives together, the work examines how the city reduces the self to function, and memory to a trace of survival.
